Gel Mani: Kitty on Roses

Michelle wanted the Hello Kitty design that I did for Abigail a month back, and a couple of other ones that I did; florals and ribbons! However, we only decided on 2 complex designs and a simple one (polka dots) so the entire set would not be too overwhelming!

TADAH! I think my floral design seems to be the popular one among the ladies 🙂

This time, the Hello Kitty is on the tips instead of half-moon as before as Michelle’s free edge is ample enough for the design!

Colours used: Gelish Sheek White, Gelish Make A Difference, Gelish Take Action, Gelish Black Shadow and ONS Tiptoe Thru The Tulips, only the Hello Kitty design and polka dots are done with gel, the flowers are acrylic paint!

I love it, it’s so feminine!

Gel Mani: Subtle Marbling

Hehe Mum finally succumbed to do soft gel on her nails!! Took me 3 months to convince her ever since I got my own gelish kit, lol! My mum was super worried about the removal process and she was whining about my new 6G LED lamp for being too ‘hot’ hahaha!! But she got used to the heat afterwards!

Photobucket

She wanted something really plain so I suggested marbling! I used Gelish Take Action and Gelish Sheek White and added crystals for her! Super simple because she doesn’t really like loud nail art.

P.S. The reason why my mum’s pointy finger wasn’t painted is because her nail broke and the cut was pretty deep. I didn’t want the gelish chemicals to touch her wound as it might result in adverse reactions or it might be very painful. Mum put a plaster over the finger once I was done with her nails!

This post is supposed to be scheduled during CNY period since this is my mum’s CNY nails but somehow it got ‘lost’ among all my draft posts so it’s kinda outdated already… Lol

Gel Mani: Pink Panther

Hehe I know panthers don’t have spots but Yvonne mentioned that it looks like Pink Panther which gave me any idea for today’s post title! (This is her aunt’s nails btw)

It’s been ages since I’ve done leopard prints and I glad to do it again! I know it may seem like a normal leopard print design but something’s different! I actually tried using gelish for the art! Gelish Take Action for the base colour with Angel.Pro No. 22 (a hot favourite, I must say!) and Gelish Black Shadow for the leopard! The art isn’t that precise as compared to using acrylic paint. Gelish definitely looks softer on the nails but acrylic paint is able to achieve a more higher definition look and it has more contrast! I didn’t really like how this came out though… guess I better stick with acrylic paint! 😛

Gel Mani: Another Dotted Affair

Sally’s colleague, Siaw Hui wanted to do the same design as what I’ve done for Sally (my boyfriend’s mum) here. I did some minor changes but still kept the theme very closely with the inspired nails from Nail Max!

Photobucket

This time, I used Gelish Make A Difference and Gelish Take Action alternately with China Glaze White Out and OPI I’m An I-ndia Mood For Love for the roses! I really love the Gelish pinks from the breast awareness set!!! 🙂

Because of time constraint… I only did the dotted lines background on alternate nails. I think they look pretty good like that too! As she wanted them to last until CNY, I suggested not putting any crystals at all so that the manicure wouldn’t be ruined if the crystals did drop. However, she wanted crystals on her thumbs only! (you can’t really see it)

Gel Mani: A Dotted Affair

Sally (my boyfriend’s mum) chose this design from the Nail Max Feb 2012 issue when I did a few samples on my nail art wheel! 😀

Photobucket

I tweaked the colours to make this design more ‘personalized’! I used Gelish Take Action with Gelish June Bride and Gelish Sleek White with Gelish Vegas Nights as the base colours! After that, I added on oval-shaped blobs using OPI Planks A Lot and OPI Indi-a Mood For Love! The rest of the art was done with acrylic paint! I actually wanted to replace the accent nails (white base) with polka dots as the background but it didn’t turn out as well and it didn’t match with the rest of the nails, so we decided to make it the dotted lines as the background for all the nails!

Did all roses on all fingers except both middle fingers because I don’t want it to be too overcrowding with the roses. Hehe, added a pearl and a ss10 crystal for the middle fingers and also ss4 crystals on the centre of each rose! Love how it shines with the slightest movement of her hands 😀

Hehe more pics on her left hand because Sally is more biased, lol! Haha she claims she likes nails on her left hand better cus none of them broke and are of a same length! 😉

I finished doing this pair of nails at 1AM!!! Lol cuz my future mother-in-law (hopefully) got home from work late and we started doing her nails really late too! My eyes were literally cross-eyed cause I was tired but yet I had to focus! 😛

Gel Mani: Abstract Accent Floral with Crystals

Did a house call for my boyfriend’s relatives last Friday night (Omg, sorry backtrack time!) and it was kinda fun! Did three people’s hands and feet and my back was aching the entire time because I was sitting on a stool and their coffee table was quite low, lol.

I didn’t take pictures of my bf’s aunts’ nails because they only did one colour; without any designs. One of them also did gelish and she chose Harmony Gelish Make A Difference; a really gorgeous dark pink I would say!

**sorry for the bad quality of photos; these are taken with my iPhone 4! Colours looked super washed out 😦

However, this post is going to be about my bf’s mum’s nails 🙂 She allowed me to do whatever I wanted, as long as there’s floral nail art! I suggested using accent floral nail art with a different colour in the same spectrum. So we ended up using colours from the breast awareness set again! I used Harmony Gelish Take Action and Harmony Gelish Less Talk as bases and added Swarovski crystals of different sizes in ss10 and ss5 on each nail except the floral accent nails.

Her middle finger nail on her right hand broke and she was pretty upset about it because it doesn’t look complete with one short stubby nail!

Hehe next post will be on my last week’s gelish manicure~~ 🙂
