Phew I’ve finally finished my homework for my upcoming diploma exam this Sunday!!! I really hope I can do well and get a diploma cert for my nail technology course 😀
Anyway, this is the set I’ve come up with for my homework and the theme is Sweet Desserts! Seriously I love eating sweet things and it was quite challenging to come up with this set. I actually did 6 of the tips 2-3 months ago and then the remaining 4 tips this week! (I know, school was being such an ass sometimes!)
I used a bunch of colours for this but I’m not gonna mention them here because it’d take ages!!!
I love this set too, my favourite is the cupcake nail with the pocky sticks and also my gumdrop cone, haha!
Finally… its airbrush lessons!!! This was one of the lessons that I was looking forward to in learning months ago! However, before I start talking about my learning experience, I wasn’t too delighted in paying $20 for the rental of the airbrush gun (actually we handed $120 to them; $100 was the deposit) for my 6-hour lesson. Reason being is that… shouldn’t it be included in my course fees already?!?! I understand that the other $100 collected for the deposit is IF the students damaged the gun during the lesson but I feel that the fees collected for the rental is absurd. Oh well… just my humble opinion!
Here’s the airbrush gun that I rented from the school!
And then we spent about 1.5-2 hours to control the airbrush by making small, medium and large sized dots! I thought it would be fairly easy, just like spraying paint out of a can! However, it is pretty difficult to control and my hands got really tired at holding the airbrush gun!
Moving on to more exciting things… spraying it on stencils!
And here’s my final work after the 6 hours! There should be more tips displayed but I wrecked them all due to poor control 😦 I picked out the best works to be photographed! We actually did a cloud + balloon design but I messed up the balloon and threw it away in the end! 😦
P.S. as of today, I’ve already completed my Pink Room lessons!! Yippee… So now I’m preparing for my upcoming extension exams!
Hmm, this isn’t exactly 4D but I’d like to call them that anyway! This is supposed to be called 3D in nailist terms but since most people confuse embossed art as 3D, I decided to call them 4D instead to ease the confusion!
Omg, the results looks pretty cute but lots of effort for one rose! Added some ‘satin ribbons’ and it ended up looking abit too big for my bouquet…
… So I added more roses to the bundle! Love it! But I wonder how am I going to stick it onto my nail…
Lastly we did a more advanced 4D flower… I shall call this my version of Frangipani! Lol, looks TOO BIG to be on the nail, I think it will look cuter as a brooch or a hairclip! 😀
Finally it’s Nail Art 3 lessons… we’re finally reaching the end of my lessons at Pink Room! 😀
Today we did a more detailed nail art!
First we did dolphins… honestly I wouldn’t want it on my nails; it will look terribly funny! Haha!
Next was the star-crossed lovers between the dragonfly and the goldfish! LOL, reminds me of an ancient Chinese story of two lovers that didn’t end up together because they live in different worlds!
Okay, to make the rose very 3D and realistic, we had to blend lots of different colours of red to create shadows and depth! This was tiring to do, because there were alot of steps involved! Phew… I’m glad mine turned out looking like a flower lol!
And lastly it was the adorable Panda! This was actually much easier to do than the realistic rose!!!! Haha!
Pics of all our pandas together, arranged according to our panda’s age! LOL not one panda looked the same hahaha!
It’s my holiday period now till mid October and I’m busy clocking hours for self study sessions every week for part of the requirement of my upcoming extension exam!
My nail model, Miao Xian is my guinea pig for practice 2 weeks ago! I did acrylic tip overlay for her and did the blue tips in Gelish Caution, a beautiful dark shimmering blue! I had to do a thick French smile line to cover her free edge!
Here’s how they look after filing and pinching…
And here’s how they look in all angles! Personally, I feel that tip overlay is the easiest to master, French sculptures are the hardest 😡
Anyway, do note that I do not offer any extension services at the moment; until I’m comfortable at my level of skill or if I pass my extension exam! ^^ (I am still looking for nail models to practice, let me know if you’re interested!)
So last week’s lesson was all about detail drawing! We created snowflakes first… I managed to do three because I had alot of time and Teacher Joe said my snowflakes were ‘Good!’, YAY! I can foresee that these will be popular during Christmas period!
It was hard doing the straight lines of the snowflakes, felt that I was trembling hahaha!
Next… Christmas wreaths! This is the easiest design on that day even though it looks difficult! I can’t seem to get it look ‘featherly’ enough, so I shall try to attempt this design again during my free time!
Butterflies…. I’m in love!!!! I never knew that I can draw butterflies, since they’re so detailed! Hehe, Teacher Joe said my butterfly proportions were ‘Good!’ LOL. I like getting praises from Teachers… it makes me happy!
Lastly, hand-drawn roses! Argh, I really hated these though, I cannot get the ‘moon’ shape right… Sigh! Drawing salon-styled florals is really not my thing!
Yay I finally completed my extension classes and now we’re back to doing nail art!!!! Hurray! I prefer nail art classes though hahaha! We did two types of marbelizing today, water and non-water, lol!
I actually attempt water marbelizing last year, and I just couldn’t get it right… but today I did after Teacher Nicole’s tips and tricks 😉 it’s much easier to do it now as compared to last year but its soooo messy and time consuming!
Also, I was glad to bring my OPI nail polishes to class; it was much easier to do the designs compared to those cheaper ones that my school provided! 😀
The first design we did was a heart design and followed by the peacock… I love how the peacock one turned out!
Next, we did a more complicated marbelizing… I shall call this a coffee design?! LOL. I love this design too…
The next half of the lesson we attempted non-water marbelizing and I hated it. You have to be twice as fast as compared to the water-marbelizing and everything must be wet so that you can drag it with a paint brush!
Honestly, I messed up alot of things because I was too slow. ;/
And look at the mess! I ruined alot of my orange sticks and blue tacks… …
