Angel Pro Gelly Festive Bling Review

Hello all, a very special post today! Recently, Angel Pro released 100 new fabulous colours into their collection so they have a total of 147 colours as of today! I think I mentioned it before in another post so do clickย hereย for more information.

As an Angel Pro ambassador, I was given a set of festive blings for testing and review and I love all the colours that I’ve received! โค Thank you Angel Pro for being so generous! ๐Ÿ˜€

The colours that I’ve received are: #122, #124, #137 and #138.

Description:
#122: metallic purple with pink shimmer
#124: cool toned metallic silver
#137: thick confetti field green glitter with small sized hexagon glitter suspended in a light green jelly base
#138: thick cobalt blue glitter with small and medium sized hexagon glitter suspended in a light blue jelly base

All are very thick and concentrated, therefore only 2 coats is needed. However, I find that the glitters #137 and #138 might need an additional top coat so that it will not feel ‘gritty’ to the touch. (This is because there’s too much glitter packed into a small bottle!! Now, that is a good thing too!) My personal favourite is #138 as I love that it displays a ‘galaxy’ feel and all I need is just two coats! I used it on my clients and they love it as well! Its rare to come across such great glitters from any gel brands and I’m glad Angel Pro did it!

Review: Polish Rings

Melissa contacted me 2 weeks back and asked me whether I’d love to review her handmade polish rings. (Of cause I agreed!) If you guys don’t know, polish rings were in the rage about 2 years ago when someone in the U.S. started this ‘trend’. I’m not so sure who started this innovative idea first because since then, lots of people in other countries started selling their polish rings too! I’ve always wanted one since 2 years ago but they were SUPER EXPENSIVE in the States! They were selling it about US$30 and above for a customised ring; with a polish colour of your choice! I remember lots of people ordered limited edition polishes to be made into a ring because firstly, they’re expensive, secondly; hard to find and thirdly; you get to wear it fashionably on yourself!

Its incredibly impossible to find any polish rings made in Singapore at that time and I’m glad Melissa set up her blogshop to share her passion for nail polish and accessories!

Photobucket

If you ask me whether I love the nail polish ring that I picked out, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! โค I chose Cult Nails Clairvoyant for my ring because since I didn’t have that polish to admire, I could still able to wear it on my fingers! Look how dazzling it is!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ I heard that Clairvoyant used to be called Unicorn Puke. I wish they stuck with the old name though, it seems much more funnier and wacky.

Remember to check out Melissa’s blogshop at: http://poshpolish.livejournal.com/, each ring is S$12 or US$10.
She does her nail polish rings by collection based; for example; she has currently 2 collections ongoing; #1: Glitter, Flakies and Rainbow and #2 Love is in the Air. You can also customize your own ring, just let her know what polish colour you want and she does the rest of the magic! She makes the rings when you order them, so be sure to order in advance as you’ll have to wait for 2 days for the glue to set before she is able to mail them out ๐Ÿ™‚ She also ships internationally!

P.S. Melissa actually sent a second ring to me because the first ring got damaged in transit despite the double bubble-wrap. I love how quick and efficient she is to handle such situation. The packaging of the ring definitely improved during the second mailing ๐Ÿ™‚ thumbs up for great service!

JulieG Jesse’s Girls Collection: Swatches & Review

Hello guys!! Its been ages since I’ve done a collection swatches and review so I’m glad to do one for Jesse’s Girl! This is indeed a new brand to me and I ordered this collection online as soon as it was available on their website. There’s a big discount for buying the entire collection so I went with that. (USD$25) Shipping was quite fast, I received these in about a week or so.

If you’re unfamiliar with this collection, this was created by JulieG, a beauty guru on Youtube! She has created her own nail polish collection and I think its a pretty good one because there’s something for everyone! I’ve been watching her videos from the start, she’s very cheerful and informative and that’s what I look for when I watch beauty-related videos! You need to check her out if you haven’t! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is her video introducing all her nail polishes if you are interested in knowing more!

All swatches are 2 coats with no top coat. I wished she did more shimmers though because they’re super gorgeous. This collection consists of 2 shimmers and 6 cremes.

Beauty Guru is a dark musky orange and it looks like a baked orange to me! (Not that I’ve eaten or seen one!) I like this one, the oranges I own are mostly brights or neon and its kinda interesting to see a musky one.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Fashion Friday is an gorgeous red-toned purple, very flattering! Its the colour of JulieG’s background when she makes videos when she’s sitting down and doing one of her makeup videos! I believe this is quite an exact match and I like it!

Photobucket

Photobucket

All Things Girly is a red-toned peach. This isn’t one of my top picks for this collection at all because it doesn’t look good against my skin and the formula was horrible! It was streaky and really thick! I guess I had to bring out my Seche Restore if I’m using it next time.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Stiletto is a light taupe with subtle silver shimmer. It kinda looks something in between purple and grey. A very office appropriate colour and a very unique one at that! I’ve never seen anything like this colour and I’m glad I own this one now!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Cupcake Frosting is a hot fuchsia, nothing very special actually so I’m gonna just keep this description short and sweet, haha!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Party Dress is a red-toned coral, very beautiful and flattering on my skintone. Love this!! I actually have this as my pedi right now and I love the great pop of colour.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Girls Night Out is a medium cobalt blue, very striking and much darker than pictured. Again, not a very unique polish but I’m surprised that this wasn’t an exact dupe of Barry M Cobalt Blue! I might do a comparison if you guys request :>

Photobucket

Photobucket

Mermaid’s Lagoon is a dark teal with subtle golden-red shimmer. Its more like a sprinkle of fairy dust of some sort in the polish, the shimmer is really pretty and dazzling! My camera kinda freaked out on this colour but I swear this colour is super gorgeous in real life! It is much more greener than pictured, not as turquoise as what the photo depicts.

As a whole, I had no issues with the formula except for All Things Girly. Their brushes are kinda unique, they’re thin, small and short so it kinda makes me go back to the bottle twice for each nail on average to have enough polish for my entire nail!

Well, so what’s your favourite from this collection? My favourites have to be Mermaid’s Lagoon, Fashion Friday and Stiletto! Any requests for comparison, please let me know ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nailene So Real: Review

Hello everyone! So I was clearing out and packing my Helmer last night and I chanced upon these fake nails that I’ve yet to use. I bought these months ago on sg_beauty community on Livejournal. I think I got these for $5. I don’t think these are available in Singapore unless you order from Drugstore(?), I’m not so sure either sorry!

Photobucket
Mine isn’t this set, I was just showing you guys how the set looks like. My actual set french tips was much more bigger and the nails tips are wider.

This set includes 24 fake nails in 12 sizes and it includes a mini plastic cuticle pusher, a mini filer and a pink gel glue. Because I neglected this set in my Helmer, the gel glue was dried up when I tried to use it so I replaced it with a normal nail glue which I got from PNC Traders.

Anyway, let’s do a quick jump to my review now!

Photobucket

Pros:

Very affordable. (Well, at the price I got them for; not the retail price!)

These are very easy to use and the instructions on the back of the box was very clear, I like that they included a mini cuticle pusher and a filer.

I like how they did something out of the norm, which is to do a classic french tip design; unlike other brands that comes up with too much dazzling and complicated designs for all 10 fingers.

Since I was using a different glue, I was able to peel them off without soaking my hands in pure acetone. (I believe that is a waste of nail polish remover and it’s harmful to my hands too!)

Cons:

It came off pretty easily. I was packing my closet too last night and all I did was to hang up clothes and fold them and the nail on my thumb came off. Maybe it was because I didn’t use the gel glue that was provided.

The nail tips were too wide and big for my nails. When I found the perfect size for my cuticle area, my nails were too long for the french tips to cover so I had to use a wider and bigger french tip to cover my entire nail, which made it look ย pretty fake. I had to paste the nail further out from my cuticle so that it entirely covers my natural nails.

The glue that I used was actually visible under the fake nails which made it look kinda cheap. Well, maybe applying a sheer pink polish underneath might solve this problem.

Alright, that’s all for my review! I hope this was helpful! ๐Ÿ™‚

CND Just Red and Red Sparkle: Swatches & Review

Opps, sorry for reviewing this duo so late! It initially came out this year for Valentine’s! I was rearranging my stash in my Helmer a few days back and I came across these. (omg can you believe that 4 of my drawers are full??!) Funny thing is… I’ve forgotten that I own them but now I do!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Just Red is a blood red polish. Nothing much to say about this one. It’s just a regular red polish that everyone should have in their stash! This bottle came 1/2 full because it leaked while its in the packaging ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I get really upset when my polishes get leaked during shipping because my money is wasted, lol!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Red Sparkle over Just Red. I love the combination! Looks like fiery fire! It sparkles really well too, it’s actually fine red glitter suspended in a clear base.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Now for the formulae, these are simply fantastic. I love CND because of their smooth application and their brushes and I have absolutely no problems with this one. You can get away with 1 coat with Just Red, that’s how opaque this polish is!!

Maybe they shouldn’t have paired red with a red glitter for Valentine’s. It’s too boring. They should have done a pink polish with red and pink glitter, that would be awesome!

OPI Blue Shatter Swatches & Review

Hey guys!! Can you believe I’m watching ‘That’s So Raven’ again?? Good old times!! I found a whole list of the show’s episodes on someone’s Youtube channel and I’ve been hooked ever since last night!

Today’s feature are the Blue Shatters!!!! I’ve been playing with these lil ones ever since I’ve gotten them from PNC Traders!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Turquoise Shatter over MAC Spirit of Truth. This one has the best shimmer out of the 2 shatters! I wish OPI did come out with actual polish shades like these that don’t shatter. That would be amazing!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Navy Shatter over China Glaze Something Sweet is one of my favourites in this collection! It crackled the best out of the three and I’m in loveeeee โค

Photobucket

Photobucket

Blue Shatter over China Glaze Lemon Fizz. It didn’t crack really well for my first try because I didn’t really let the polish dry before putting the shatter on, my bad! Look at my pinky… it only shattered once LOL

Photobucket

Photobucket

So I’ve tried it again and this time the shatter pattern is much more pretty! Here’s Blue Shatter over OPI Canberra’t Without You. The colour for Blue Shatter is really off here… its more of a slate blue with more blue in it lol.

All the shatters in this collection shattered really evenly, especially Navy. Maybe it’s because its a creme finish. Anyway, OPI has definitely improved its shatter formulae because the polish is slightly thinner and makes it a joy to work with! And I do realised that the polish doesn’t clog up the neck of the bottle like Black Shatter, which is a disaster in my opinion. I love the newer shatters so much better! I don’t really go near my bottle of Black Shatter anymore because it is so difficult getting polish out from the brush! Lots of thick gooey dried out polish ended up on my nails on my last try :/

Chanel Summer 2011 Morning Rose: Swatches & Review

Hey guys!! I woke up to a big rain this morning and the feeling of snuggling up in bed was sooo good. It’s been ages since I’ve slept till I’m happy to wake up!

Photobucket

Chanel Morning Rose is a warm coral pink with light golden shimmer. Sorry my photos look so blue, the colour is leaning much more to coral instead of a bluish pink. The shimmer is outstanding in the bottle but somehow it doesn’t show up much on the nails, which is quite a bummer. I did 3 coats to cover up the streakiness and bald spots. Usually, I always do 2 coats with Chanel’s polishes but however, this time I needed 3!

Anyway this is limited edition and from what I’ve heard, it looks like it’s already sold out from my local Chanel counters :/ I think Beige Petale is still available!

I hope you have a great Saturday! I’m staying home to watch Kungfu Panda with my boyfriend ๐Ÿ™‚
