China Glaze Haute Metal

Hello guys! Wow I just got home from work and I have to say that it’s kinda tiring but yet satisfying. I served 3 customers today doing express manicure with one with black french tips. I think I might have took 30 mins doing the french tips because it was so hard! It got pretty messy too, since it was black and I took quite awhile in making her skin clean and black-free, lol! Also, I think I might get gelish from Kim again because my natural nails are really weak and I can’t really polish my nails because work requires me to clean the edges of the customers’ nails if I mess up.Β Anyway, come visit me at Milly’s at Bugis level 2! πŸ™‚

So this is an impromptu post, I was just playing around with the China Glaze crackle and I love this combo! I layered China Glaze Haute Metal over OPI Dating A Royal! I love how the bright blue pops out from the pale metallic pink πŸ™‚

Happy 46th Birthday, Singapore!!

Today’s is 9th August and its the birthday of my home country! πŸ™‚ I didn’t draw any crescent moon or 5 stars on my mani, I kept it simple by doing a side-swipe of red and white.

Photobucket

I am a big fail… I tried to do a plait design on my ring finger as an accent nail and after I’m done with it and showed it to my boyfriend, he asked me why did I paint England’s flag on my middle nail. LOL…. I AM SUCH A FAILURE. When I was drawing it… I didn’t even have England on my mind lol.

Haha I did a red shatter on my middle finger on my right hand and I think it looks so much appropriate! I’m such a muddle-head, geez! :/

Anyway for some fun, here are my top 10 reasons on why I love Singapore!!

1. I can walk along the streets of Singapore way past midnight without being afraid of getting robbed. Our safety in this country is excellent!
2. We have the biggest variety of local food available at the cheapest prices! From Hainanese Chicken Rice toΒ Laksa to Rojak to Lor Mee to Mee Siam to Roti Prata… we have it all from different races!
3. A conversation by Singaporeans can have a mix of English, Singlish, Chinese, Malay and other dialects such as Hokkien and Cantonese! We are so versatile at our languages!
4. Our corruption and crime rates are so low.
5. No worries about earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunami etc.
6. Our Changi International Airport is one of the best around the world! Since its opening in 1981, our airport has won over 360 awards for being the best in cleanliness and customer service!
7. We drink our own pee. That’s right… we have this NEWater system that takes water from our drains and pipes and turns ‘dirty’ water into ‘clean’ ones for our consumption.
8. You will never get cheated or over charged in our cabs. EVER.
9. WE LOVE DURIANS!!!!
10. Haha… last one… we love complaining! LOL

I’m kinda sad that its our President S.R. Nathan last national day parade with us. He has been with us for 11 long years πŸ™‚ I’m currently watching the NDP now so see yaaaa all πŸ™‚

even Google celebrated it with us πŸ˜€

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY, SINGAPORE!!!!

Shatter Layering Mani

Hello it’s another day of Pink Wednesdays!!!! πŸ˜€ Yesterday I received my China Glazes from a spree at Nailgasm and I’m so excited to finally own China Glaze Broken Hearted and Crushed Candy! I’m glad those crackled polishes was brought back… I missed them the first time round and it was sold out everywhere!

Photobucket

I’ve used OPI Rumples’s Wiggin’as my base with China Glaze Broken Hearted and then I topped it off with OPI Red Shatter! πŸ™‚ First time layering a shatter and I’m loving this combo!! I didn’t layer red entirely on the nail because the pink shatter did not even show 😦 please look at my poor thumb LOL. My pinky looks like a glob of blood on top 😦

My cuticles are getting really dry lately and I’ve not been pushing my cuticles back too! :/ Time to bring out my hand and cuticle cream and my orange woodsticks haha!

OPI Blue Shatter Swatches & Review

Hey guys!! Can you believe I’m watching ‘That’s So Raven’ again?? Good old times!! I found a whole list of the show’s episodes on someone’s Youtube channel and I’ve been hooked ever since last night!

Today’s feature are the Blue Shatters!!!! I’ve been playing with these lil ones ever since I’ve gotten them from PNC Traders!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Turquoise Shatter over MAC Spirit of Truth. This one has the best shimmer out of the 2 shatters! I wish OPI did come out with actual polish shades like these that don’t shatter. That would be amazing!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Navy Shatter over China Glaze Something Sweet is one of my favourites in this collection! It crackled the best out of the three and I’m in loveeeee ❀

Photobucket

Photobucket

Blue Shatter over China Glaze Lemon Fizz. It didn’t crack really well for my first try because I didn’t really let the polish dry before putting the shatter on, my bad! Look at my pinky… it only shattered once LOL

Photobucket

So I’ve tried it again and this time the shatter pattern is much more pretty! Here’s Blue Shatter over OPI Canberra’t Without You. The colour for Blue Shatter is really off here… its more of a slate blue with more blue in it lol.

All the shatters in this collection shattered really evenly, especially Navy. Maybe it’s because its a creme finish. Anyway, OPI has definitely improved its shatter formulae because the polish is slightly thinner and makes it a joy to work with! And I do realised that the polish doesn’t clog up the neck of the bottle like Black Shatter, which is a disaster in my opinion. I love the newer shatters so much better! I don’t really go near my bottle of Black Shatter anymore because it is so difficult getting polish out from the brush! Lots of thick gooey dried out polish ended up on my nails on my last try :/

OPI Serena Glam Slam Spark De Triomphe & White Shatter: Swatches & Review

Hello good morning! How’s your day today? My lovely morning was ruined by a certain guy because he made me super pissed but I still remained nice and most probably pissed him off too in a sarcastic way πŸ™‚ I’m not gonna let such people bring me down!!

Okay so here’s the second duo set from Serena Glam Slam this year, take a look!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Spark De Triomphe is a light silver blonde glitter with large hexagon glitter and many small round ones in a clear base. This was 2 coats and as you can see, it is still sheer with VNL. The glitter isn’t that hard to remove so that’s a bonus plus for glitter lovers!

White Shatter over Spark De Triomphe. I must apologise for the sparkles and smudges on my fingers. I didn’t do a proper cleanup after swatching Rally Pretty Pink the other day.

White Shatter has the same formula and application issues like the Black Shatter so there isn’t anything much to comment. It does clog up the neck of the bottle so you should apply fast so that the polish doesn’t have a chance to dry up at the top. It is definitely better than China Glaze Lighting Bolt. I don’t really like CG’s crackles because they’re very hard to apply and the polish doesn’t crack that much compared to OPI’s.

I love this duo set much better than Rally Pretty Pink and Red Shatter though because they really compliment each other well.

Hope this was helpful πŸ˜‰

China Glaze Good Witch?

This was yesterday’s Pink Wednesday mani! πŸ˜‰ Sorry I posted this up a little late because I didn’t have the time to be on my laptop. I watched Pirates of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides last night with my boyfriend and his parents and it was great! I didn’t watch the past 3 installments for POTC but I’m glad there’s not much linkage. I always thought mermaids are kind and gentle like Ariel (from the Little Mermaid) but I guess I was wrong. Tamara kinda freaks me out with her stunning features… Johnny Depp is hot though, I think no men can ever pull off such thick eyeliner other than himself. πŸ˜‰

Photobucket

Good Witch? is a light frost pink with very tiny darker pink microglitter. I did an accent nail on my ring finger with OPI Red Shatter. I love this combi, because the microglitter of Good Witch? is peeking out from the shatter. The pink is so subtle but yet bold because of the shatter polish.

OPI Serena Glam Slam Rally Pretty Pink & Red Shatter: Swatches & Review

I got the Serena Glam Slam sets right before I went for diving so today I have one of the sets to show you!

I went to PNC Traders this afternoon and they are selling each set for only $19!!! Best deal in the whole of Singapore in my opinion! Lots of places are selling for $20 odd to $30 which is insane. I’d recommend you to go to PNC Traders right now before all the sets are snapped up!

Rally Pretty Pink… I’ve no idea how to describe this. It’s pink in a dark brown base with lots of golden/yellow shimmer. The amount of shimmer is crazy and I love it!!!

I did 2 coats and I am very pleased with the opacity. However I find that Rally Pretty Pink takes abit longer to dry than other OPIs.

Photobucket

Rally Pretty Pink with Red Shatter. I find that the Red Shatter doesn’t really crack as much as the other shatters but the good thing is that the polish is thin and doesn’t clog up the neck of the bottle. Its sheer, like a jelly crackle. Very different from the other crackles I’ve used. In my opinion, I don’t think Rally Pretty Pink suits Red Shatter though. It just looks too weird for me, kinda looks like a gem covered in blood lol!

Maybe I have to try Red Shatter with other colours before I comment any further πŸ™‚

With topcoat:

I just cannot leave a shattered mani without a topcoat. Because I don’t really like matte finishes and I don’t fancy the shatter polish peeling off by themselves!

I hope this review was helpful!
