China Glaze Papaya Punch

Hey guys! I know I said I’ll be posting up my gelish mani that was done by Kim but Mum took the digital cam to China so I’m stuck with using my iPhone until she gets back the following week 😦 My DSLR isn’t charged at all so no pics today 😦 Anyway, I will be clearing out lots of my draft posts so you can still see my long nails 🙂

I went to town today for Hazel’s flea and I got a couple of polishes. That’s not the best part though. I walked out of Cineleisure and there’s a small booth outside selling lots of nail supplies like fimo canes, huge rhinestones, hexagon glitter, filers, nail polishes etc. The hexagon glitter was only $2.90 with 12 colours so that was a really good deal! I bought a couple of rhinestones and their polishes to try so I’ll feature them here soon! Haha their shop is Beadstreet but their polish is named ‘Michelle’. THAT IS ODD. LOL.

China Glaze Papaya Punch is a bright warm orange. I’m loving the name of this, it is so appropriate!! I have no oranges that bright at all and I’m actually excited to wear this on my toes next! This was rather streaky, I had to do three coats to even it out.

This reminds me of a fruit punch and I think I have a craving for it now!

P.S. The colour is more true to the last picture!

China Glaze Electric Pineapple

Hello guys! I’m down to my last paper on Wednesday, hurray!! I can’t wait to get my freedom back lol! I have so much activities lined up after that too 🙂

Photobucket

China Glaze Electric Pineapple is a muddy yellow with a tinge of green. Kinda looks like OPI Fiercely Fiona so I’ll do a comparison soon! I feel like this was a name fail on this one because the colour was kinda dull and musky so I don’t see why it was named ‘Electric Pineapple’. I wish it was a bright creme though, that would look really awesome.

Application was a tough one, it was so streaky and thick!!! I did three coats to even everything out.

Short post today because I am going to head to bed now 🙂

OPI Come To Poppy & OPI I Lily Love You

Good afternoon, it’s another day of Pink Wednesday! No nail art post today, I’m kinda lacking in that area recently 😦 any suggestions for my next nail art post? Share it with me 🙂

Photobucket

OPI Come To Poppy is a beautiful coral-pink with a pearl sheen to it. Normally I wouldn’t like a pearly shade but this one is AMAZING!! I think this one complements all skin tones.

I layered OPI I Lily Love You over my middle finger for abit of glam! I think OPI ILLY is really a great addition as a layered polish because the flakies is incredible! It’s also has a squishy jelly pink base which shouts ‘strawberry jam’ lol! My photos doesn’t do it justice 😦

Anyway, the one thing that I hate is the removal part. Flakies are so much more difficult to remove, compared to glitters!! I’m glad I didn’t layer it all on my fingers if not I’ll be really mad trying to remove them all haha!

Essie Absolutely Shore

Hi guys!! I have a draft post for you guys today 🙂

Tomorrow is the last day of my mid-school term and in another week or so, it’s the exam period!!!! 😦

Photobucket

Essie Absolutely Shore is a gorgeous light mint creme. It is a very subtle green; with only a tinge of it and it looks almost white from far. I did three coats for this and look how it bubbled up! 😦 it was thick and streaky and I had to put in about 5 drops of thinner.

This didn’t last long on me either because I screwed up my mani on my right hand and I removed it as soon as I finished taking the pictures.

Argh, I think I might redo the swatch of this in the near future because it’s looks horrible on second thought. :/

OPI Be A Dahlia Won’t You

Hello everyone! Sorry for not posting yesterday… I did have a swatch photo but it turned out slanted so I didn’t want to post it up because it looks horrible :X Btw, I went for a picnic with my dear friends on Sunday and it was so tiring! We lugged all our food there and cycled the bumpy slopes. Seriously hate the up slope… LOL everyone gave up halfway and ended up pushing our bikes up, haha!

Today’s NOTD is OPI Be A Dahlia Won’t You. I’ve been getting lots of questions on my latest OPI flea and I’m going to reinforce my points again. It isn’t MY flea, I’m actually working for my diving instructor part-time 🙂 But I get to purchase the OPIs at a lower price so I picked up the whole Nice Stems Collection 😀

Photobucket

OPI Be A Dahlia Won’t You is a bright pink shimmer, almost like a foil! I love this one… its so bright and sparkly! The formula was a little thick on this one but still manageable, I did 2 coats for this baby! Haha and there’s random drops of water on my nails because I just washed my hands lol.

Thanks for dropping by! 🙂

China Glaze Cha Cha Cha

Good morning, ladies! (and maybe some boys too??) it’s been 3 weeks and my ASOS package with my Barry M & Models Own polishes are not here yet!!!!! 😦 I’m in a panic now because there is a high possibility that the customs confiscated the package :/ I have already emailed ASOS and they told me to wait for another 9 days. Sometimes I really hate their automated responses on all my queries, argh!

Anyway, I have a beautiful summer polish to share today!

Photobucket

China Glaze Cha Cha Cha is a bright lime green with heavy golden shimmer. I love love love this one! Perfect for summer, IMO! I think it would look good on toes too! It was fully opaque in 2 coats and you have to be a little careful when applying this one; because it has visible brush strokes that not everyone is a fan of. I seemed to be going for greens lately…

Chanel Summer 2011 Morning Rose: Swatches & Review

Hey guys!! I woke up to a big rain this morning and the feeling of snuggling up in bed was sooo good. It’s been ages since I’ve slept till I’m happy to wake up!

Photobucket

Chanel Morning Rose is a warm coral pink with light golden shimmer. Sorry my photos look so blue, the colour is leaning much more to coral instead of a bluish pink. The shimmer is outstanding in the bottle but somehow it doesn’t show up much on the nails, which is quite a bummer. I did 3 coats to cover up the streakiness and bald spots. Usually, I always do 2 coats with Chanel’s polishes but however, this time I needed 3!

Anyway this is limited edition and from what I’ve heard, it looks like it’s already sold out from my local Chanel counters :/ I think Beige Petale is still available!

I hope you have a great Saturday! I’m staying home to watch Kungfu Panda with my boyfriend 🙂

OPI Serena Glam Slam Spark De Triomphe & White Shatter: Swatches & Review

Hello good morning! How’s your day today? My lovely morning was ruined by a certain guy because he made me super pissed but I still remained nice and most probably pissed him off too in a sarcastic way 🙂 I’m not gonna let such people bring me down!!

Okay so here’s the second duo set from Serena Glam Slam this year, take a look!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Spark De Triomphe is a light silver blonde glitter with large hexagon glitter and many small round ones in a clear base. This was 2 coats and as you can see, it is still sheer with VNL. The glitter isn’t that hard to remove so that’s a bonus plus for glitter lovers!

White Shatter over Spark De Triomphe. I must apologise for the sparkles and smudges on my fingers. I didn’t do a proper cleanup after swatching Rally Pretty Pink the other day.

White Shatter has the same formula and application issues like the Black Shatter so there isn’t anything much to comment. It does clog up the neck of the bottle so you should apply fast so that the polish doesn’t have a chance to dry up at the top. It is definitely better than China Glaze Lighting Bolt. I don’t really like CG’s crackles because they’re very hard to apply and the polish doesn’t crack that much compared to OPI’s.

I love this duo set much better than Rally Pretty Pink and Red Shatter though because they really compliment each other well.

Hope this was helpful 😉

OPI Serena Glam Slam Rally Pretty Pink & Red Shatter: Swatches & Review

I got the Serena Glam Slam sets right before I went for diving so today I have one of the sets to show you!

I went to PNC Traders this afternoon and they are selling each set for only $19!!! Best deal in the whole of Singapore in my opinion! Lots of places are selling for $20 odd to $30 which is insane. I’d recommend you to go to PNC Traders right now before all the sets are snapped up!

Rally Pretty Pink… I’ve no idea how to describe this. It’s pink in a dark brown base with lots of golden/yellow shimmer. The amount of shimmer is crazy and I love it!!!

I did 2 coats and I am very pleased with the opacity. However I find that Rally Pretty Pink takes abit longer to dry than other OPIs.

Photobucket

Rally Pretty Pink with Red Shatter. I find that the Red Shatter doesn’t really crack as much as the other shatters but the good thing is that the polish is thin and doesn’t clog up the neck of the bottle. Its sheer, like a jelly crackle. Very different from the other crackles I’ve used. In my opinion, I don’t think Rally Pretty Pink suits Red Shatter though. It just looks too weird for me, kinda looks like a gem covered in blood lol!

Maybe I have to try Red Shatter with other colours before I comment any further 🙂

With topcoat:

I just cannot leave a shattered mani without a topcoat. Because I don’t really like matte finishes and I don’t fancy the shatter polish peeling off by themselves!

I hope this review was helpful!

Illamasqua Spring/Summer 2011: Purity and Bacterium Swatches & Review

Good evening!! I just completed 2 tutorials and revised abit for my test so I guess I need a break so here I am!! 😉

Today I have for you 2 polishes from Illamasqua Toxic Nature collection for Spring/Summer 2011! I managed to buy these because of a spree held by 2 wonderful people, Jo and Hydaia from Miss-Jo Spree! Furthermore, there was a 20% discount on all items which was a great deal because I saved quite abit on money! I picked up the nail polish duo because they’re much cheaper compared to buying them individually and I was simply lured to Bacterium and got the duo which had Purity in it too. (£21.00 for 2 polishes in the duo compared to £13.50 individually)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Bacterium is a taupe brown frost with blue silvery iridescent shimmer, 2 coats. I am not in love with the frost finish because frost doesn’t really work on my nails! It’s an ugly pretty colour… I still can’t decide which catergory I’m gonna place this in!

Purity is a type of peach that isn’t a pastel and not under brights, it’s something in between, 2 coats. It is leaning slightly more to pink. This brings out the tan in my hands which I really like!

Photobucket

The application on these were not too bad, in fact they are marvelous! Purity was opaque in 1 coat, I gotta say I am very impressed! Bacterium was on the thin side and slightly watery. I think I might do a third coat if I do wear Bacterium out the next time.
